Fall in the Ötztal valley
Spend your fall vacation in the Ötztal valley and immerse yourself in an enchanting mountain landscape framed by picturesque forests in a golden hue. Experience unforgettable hikes, enjoy cozy hours in the rustic huts, and let yourself be enchanted by the autumnal splendor.
Fall hikes
- A journey of discovery through golden landscapes -
One of the best ways to explore the fall landscape is to hike the Ötztal Trek. Admittedly, the 22 stages are more for experienced hikers, but they are very rewarding. The trek offers experiences and moments that you will remember for a very long time. You can either plan a tour spanning several days or select individual stages. The huts and alpine pastures on the various routes are perfect for a refreshing stop. Let the innkeepers spoil you with traditional, local delicacies and a refreshing drink.
Ötzi Village and Bird of Prey Park
- a truly unique experience -
Who hasn’t heard about the Iceman. When he was discovered at the Tisenjoch at the end of the 20th century, he gave us deep insight into his former life. The Ötzi Village experience (Erlebniswelt Ötzi-Dorf) was created to share all this information with as many people as possible. It provides an opportunity to immerse yourself in the everyday life of the Stone Age people. There are numerous courses for children and families, such as lighting a fire, shooting a bow, and baking flatbread. You will also encounter some old breeds of domestic animals such as wild horses, aurochs, and woolly sheep in the Ötzi village.
In the bird of prey park (Greifvogelpark) in Umhausen you can get an up-close look at these magnificent creatures. You will find eagles, buzzards, falcons, owls, and many other impressive bird species in the park. The highlight is definitely the open-air arena performance, where you can regularly see the animals in action.
The power of water
With a breathtaking view of the mountains
Lake Piburg is nestled in the picturesque landscape of the Ötztal valley and shines in magical golden splendor in the fall. The bright colors of the surrounding forests are reflected in the calm and smooth waters of the crystal-clear lake. A walk along the shore offers a magnificent view of the colorful leaves and invites you to enjoy some peace of mind. Relax and unwind in a natural setting.
The Alpine Aqua Dome thermal spa is the perfect place to escape from everyday life and relax completely. Surrounded by imposing mountain ranges, the spa offers a variety of wellness options. This is where you can enjoy the cooler fall days to the fullest. Unwind in the warm thermal pools and revitalizing saunas or treat yourself to a soothing wellness treatment.
Colorful bike adventures
- Explore the fall nature on two wheels -
Experience the Ötztal valley in a new way and discover the beauty of the region on your bike or e-bike. With the electric drive you can easily explore the idyllic landscapes and enjoy the fresh fall air.
One of the major highlights is the Ötztal cycle path, which passes almost directly by our apartment building. The well-maintained route leads along the Ötztaler Ache river and offers a varied ride through the breathtaking nature.
With the e-bike you can also reach some of the higher mountain lodges, which are often still open in fall. Take a break and taste the regional specialties while you are enjoying the stunning view.
Climbing adventure
- Steep tracks, gardens, and walls -
The Ötztal valley was developed for climbing in 1980 and has been a true Eldorado for climbing enthusiasts ever since. The massive granite rock offers the perfect conditions for every kind of climbing sport. Families can go on a voyage of discovery in several climbing parks, but we highly recommend the parks in Oetz and Piburg. For more demanding climbing experiences you should not miss the climbing parks in Niederthai and Nösslach.
For people who prefer multi-pitch climbing, the Burgsteinwand in Längenfeld and the Engelswand near Tumpen are the best places to go.
